Community Involvement

At Inglewood Family Dental, we believe that being part of our community involves more than just providing exceptional dentistry to our patients. We truly care about making better lives for the people we serve. We are proud to participate in and support a wide variety of charitable organizations.

Inglewood Family Dental has always valued being a part of such a diverse and vibrant community and enjoy participating in community events such as Inglewood Sunfest. Our clinic has participated in this event over the 3+ years as we enjoy connecting with individuals & families in the area. Inglewood Sunfest is a modern day street fair that occurs in the summer on mainstreet Inglewood where you can find local businesses showcasing diverse goods from handmade craftsmen items to vintage clothing, antiques & collectibles, artisan eats & more!

On January 31, 2019, Inglewood Family dental, in partnership with The Alex https://www.thealex.ca, put on a free dental clinic day.

The Alex is an organization which encourages “dental community engagement, promoting the value of service to others and community “.

As per their organization: “It is not the lowest income clients, but rather working disadvantaged families who have the highest needs and are falling through the cracks in our system”.

This day was completed successfully and we were able to serve over a dozen families who would have otherwise not been able to receive the treatment they required.

Procedure completed included: cleanings, extractions, fillings, and exams.

Good Oral health is closely linked to our overall health. Periodontal disease (gum disease) is closely linked to poor blood sugar control and diabetes, pregnancy related complications, vascular disease, pulmonary disease and heart attacks. It also affects our self confidence, mood, productivity and energy levels.

Fortunately Canada is among the word leaders in relation to the overall oral health of its population. But unfortunately there are groups who don’t have adequate access to care. Days such as this help reduce some of the burden on these groups.

We will be holding days like this in the future as well. You can check back here for future dates.
